Florete Flores is a collection garden with a special history, the origins of which lie in the former polder village of Oorderen. When Oorderen disappeared from the map due to the expansion of the harbour in the middle of the previous century, René Vertommen (1920 – 2011) brought the garden with him to Heist-op-den-Berg.
The garden is divided into the following themes: bee plants, ground cover, insect plants, utility plants, herb plants, ferns, butterfly plants and climbing plants.
You don't have to be a botanist to enjoy this garden full of plants and flowers, it literally buzzes with life.
