In a three-year study, 1191 beetle species were found. 203 species are on the Red List. A short-winged bird was detected for the first time in Germany. A rediscovered species of nest beetle was considered extinct or lost in Germany.
In addition, at least 650 species of butterflies, 250 species of bugs and 206 species of spiders live on the Heimberg.
