Hiking

This beautiful moor path leads from Schneisenweg to the Grenzweg parking lot and is equipped with short boardwalk sections in places. In some passages, the path can be a bit boggy, but this is kept within limits. Even after prolonged periods of rain, it remains easily walkable without the fear of sinking deep into the mud.

A charming alternative to the lower boardwalk that leads from Schneisenweg towards the Nahtsief parking lot.

The name Brackvenn probably goes back to the word Brack, which was used in the sense of inferior or infertile terrain. It referred to a landscape that was hardly suitable for agriculture or animal husbandry. However, the moor offered another possibility of use: the extraction of peat as fuel.
