The Sonoran Desert encompasses parts of Mexico and the Southwestern U.S., including Southern Arizona. Enjoy views of Saguaro and Barrel cacti, Yucca, Cholla, Marigold, Ocotillo, and Brittlebrush. Keep an eye out for desert wildlife, including Gila monsters, Cactus wrens, Roadrunners, Rattlesnakes, and Tarantulas. Pink Hill Trail heads almost due east staying fairly level with very minor elevation changes. Between the Loma Verde Wash and Monument Wash is Pink Hill, a small hill rising above the desert floor. Pink Hill is named for the iron rust found on the sides of the hill, giving it it's distinct color.
