„Everything must be acquired, it seems, when hiking and elsewhere. (...) also because the landscape is not like a bad book, where you can simply skip the middle pages and still understand the ending, no, you have to go along with its subtle transitions. Because landscapes don't put up with everything either; like people, they have a face that everyone can see, an external and indifferent face, and only when you talk to them does the countenance appear, the warm and inner life, the beautiful secret.“ (Max Frisch: „On Hiking“)

To all those who wander through the Wild Endert Valley with great joy, I would like to give a poem by the writer O. W. Ullmann as a parting gift: „Hiking, that means carrying longing for the sun and for sun-drenched heights for the mountains that tower in the clouds, for the murmuring springs and the quiet lakes, for the trees that reach into the blue air, for the fields that ripen for harvest, for the chirping crickets, for the finches' song: Hiking, that means carrying longing.”

The name Julius for this adit was chosen in memory of a foreman who worked here for many decades. The entrance to the Julius adit - closed for safety reasons (!) - is located here in direct proximity to a seating area and a memorial stone illustrating the legend of the mythical "Kaulenmännchen".
