A scenic stretch where the trail crosses the Seebach on a wooden bridge. Pretty spot to pause and listen to the water.

Well-marked path leading up to the hut with a steady, moderate climb, good place to refill water before continuing higher.

The hut is located at an altitude of 1792 m. It lies at the foot of the Aggenstein mountain. From here, you have a great view of the surrounding mountains. During the summer season from May to October, this hut of the DAV section Bad Kissingen offers 50 sleeping places. Those who do not wish to stay overnight can enjoy delicious delicacies here on the sun terrace with very beautiful views. The ascent to the hut is not entirely easy, but when you reach your destination, you will be happy about your performance.

At the beginning of February, I chose the western ascent; it's challenging, steep, occasionally (icy) slippery, lonely, and not easy (especially the meadow crossings – a difficult chapter in themselves)...but it's definitely worth all the effort....(Tip: the cable car also brings tired hikers down very comfortably – though not cheaply!).
