Carp River Conservation Area stands as a very important protected green space along the Carp River. Follow the Carp River Wetland Trail to see all the area has to offer. The trail is mostly flat and easy to navigate. It's common to see schools on field trips to learn about local ecology. There are no restrooms or parking areas in the conservation area, so plan ahead.

Torbolton Forest sits in the heart of Constance Bay and offers an easy escape into a rare dune‑forest ecosystem shaped by tall red, white, and jack pines. The 260‑hectare natural area is part of the provincially significant Constance Bay Sand Hills, giving the trails a dry, sandy feel beneath the trees. You’ll find a mix of wide and narrow paths, with opportunities for walking, cycling, horseback riding, skiing, and snowmobiling depending on the season. Please note, this area is known for poison ivy so take the necessary precautions to avoid contact.

The Shoreline Trail follows the edge of the Ottawa River at Shirleys Bay, offering wide views across the water toward the Gatineau Hills. Starting from parking lot P1, the trail connects with Trail 10 and the Greenbelt Pathway West. This stretch is especially popular for birdwatching, as shorebirds are often seen along the river’s edge. It’s also a beautiful place to catch sunset over the water. Dogs are not permitted on the Shoreline Trail to help protect the sensitive shoreline habitat.
