Paine Pond is a small pond encompassed by grasses and low vegetation and is teeming with birds, amphibians, and other wildlife. The pond is usually very calm with a nice reflection and can be walked entirely around on trails.

Carp River Conservation Area stands as a very important protected green space along the Carp River. Follow the Carp River Wetland Trail to see all the area has to offer. The trail is mostly flat and easy to navigate. It's common to see schools on field trips to learn about local ecology. There are no restrooms or parking areas in the conservation area, so plan ahead.

The Carp River flows 42 kilometres across farmland, wetlands, and suburban areas before meeting the Ottawa River. In many sections it's slow-moving and supports birds, fish and other wildlife and is an important part of the region's ecology.

The bunker is well worth seeing, even if it wouldn't have functioned in an emergency. For a week, it only had recirculated air, ventilation only from above, and a cover of just under 10 meters... No matter, there's a nice circular path at the top of the hill.
