Castle ruins "Hohenrode" - called Brigittenschloß Built from granite stones in the mid-11th century by the Freiherrn von Röder as a refuge and signal castle. There was direct visual contact with Neu-Windeck Castle in Lauf and with Rodeck Castle in Kappelrodeck. Around 1524, the castle was abandoned and fell into ruin, the ruins came into the possession of a farm estate. Purchased in 1881 by the von Röder family. They had the remnants of the wall, which suffered damage from lightning strikes in 1824 and 1899, secured. The designation Brigittenschloß only appeared after 1820, presumably after the Irish Saint Brigid, the patron saint of the church of Sasbach, to whose possession the forest around the Brigittenschloß belonged. Today, only remnants of the shield wall remain of the castle.
