The Customs Tower of Sestri Levante, also known as "del Carroggetto," is a 16th-century building built for the purpose of sighting and controlling maritime traffic. It is strategically located between the Bay of Silence and the Bay of Fairy Tales, at the tip of the peninsula. Long incorporated into buildings, it was excavated in the mid-20th century and today, restored, hosts exhibitions and cultural events.

Pomodoro's sail in Sestri Levante. One of the most beautiful non-seaside corners of my hometown Sestri is Piazza Bo. At the center of the square is the famous sail statue by the Pesaro-born artist. (c) https://www.lucadea.com/2019/07/08/la-vela-di-pomodoro-a-sestri-levante/

We cycled past the church today (Saturday) at 5:30 p.m. The bells didn't make a boring bing-bong sound: really good disco music was coming from the tower! Awesome!! ❤️❤️
