The construction of the castle began around 1398, the main western wing was completed in 1405, and the remaining works were completed in the spring of 1409[1]. The Teutonic procurator resided there. On July 12, 1410, on his way with his army into the depths of the Teutonic state, the undefended castle was occupied by Polish troops. During the Hunger War in 1414, the castle was besieged by Polish knights and captured on July 6 after an eight-day siege. In 1454, the castle was occupied by the pro-Polish Prussian Confederation and in February 1455, it was handed over to Czech mercenaries led by Jan Kolda of Žampach, who repelled the invasion of the Teutonic troops on April 28[2]. In 1517, the outer bailey was expanded and fortified. In 1784, the outer bailey burned down. In 1812, the castle was devastated by French troops. In the years 1828-1830 the castle was rebuilt into a court and prison. In the winter of 1945, Soviet troops bombarded the castle, which remained a ruin until its reconstruction in 1961-1965.

Serene spot for views and, in summer, refreshing baths in the clean lake north of Rekownica. Lake Konik (also called Klimek) is located in the Szczytno district, in the Jedwabno commune - in the Masurian Lake District. The reservoir is in the shape of an inverted letter C. The shores are varied - flat in the south, and steep among the forests. It connects with Lake Rekowe in the north, and from the southern end of the lake flows a stream called Struga Rekownicka, flowing into the Omulew River. In the southern part there is also a connection with a small stream flowing out of Lake Głęboczek. Not far away in the north-east is the Galwica Reserve. The quiet area encourages recreation by the water, the lake is also popular among anglers. https://mazury24.eu/jeziora/jezioro-konik,900

Lake Głęboczek is located in the Szczytno district, in the Jedwabno commune. The reservoir has an irregular shape - it is elongated from the north-east to the south-west, where there is a small bay. The shores of the lake are rather high and hilly, covered with pine forest, only along the shoreline, apart from the bathing area, there are also deciduous trees - birches and alders. On the south-east side, on the high shore, there are quite extensive campsites with wooden shelters. The lake has clear water throughout the year. The bottom and the coastal shoal are sandy, in places rocky. Emergent aquatic vegetation consists mainly of reed, which only in some parts of the lake grows on its shores. Submerged vegetation is soft, in places covers the coastal shoal only on the west and north sides. On the south-east side, the shoal is free of vegetation and covered with sand. The lake is very popular with tourists in the season. https://mazury24.eu/jeziora/jezioro-gleboczek,903

Until 1945 most of the residents of Rekownica were evangelic-lutheran protestants, most families used this cemetery. Most graves have been abandoned and even headstones were destroyed or removed, only 2 or three graves were added and maintained since then.

Luxurious village community park with several tented picnic shelters, generous covered outdoor BBQ grills and kitchen, swing-seats around a fireplace, bee-keeping exhibits and various play and exercise zones for kids or adults, drinking water and electricity to recharge along the way. It deserves a donation box to thank the generous village for their kind efforts.
