Beautiful tour that I enjoyed doing inversely to the other hikers I met at the top: first the Don Barbera and then the Cima to descend from Colle Palù. However, for those who have problems with the descents, it is better to follow the standard tour, therefore the opposite direction of this one.
Departure from carnino- mastrelle pass-colle palu'- pass of the goats-hill of torinesi- tip marguareis-don barbera refuge- return to carnino
Beautiful tour, description here https://www.gulliver.it/itinerari/marguareis-punta-da-carnino-superiore-per-la-bassa-di-gaina-discesa-per-il-passo-delle-mastrelle/
I left home at 7 and arrived in Carnino inferiore at 8:30 to do my classic circular tour towards Marguareis. The road was easy right away but then became challenging and I arrived in the direction of Canale dei Torinesi, also quite exposed with a rope and metal steps that I honestly didn't expect. Truly beautiful and unexpected draws that accompanied me throughout the route. When I reached the fork that would have taken me to the top of Marguareis... No, I didn't want to go because I was too tired... and in any case there would have been at least 200m of altitude difference and 200m to go up and the same to go down... I'm not ready yet, the approach with a chain and iron steps on an overhang was enough for me... so I decided to continue towards the Don Barbera refuge, not exactly around the bend... but when I arrived, no one took a slice of cake away from me... the return to Carnino was obviously all downhill and very fast. I have to say that as a second trip to the mountains I really enjoyed it... I was home at 5pm
