Langwathby Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

In the darkness of an early March morning in 1968 the 300 year old stone bridge collapsed leaving a 70m gap.
A "temporary" girder bridge was constructed as a replacement but this has been used ever since.

Station Climb, Armathwaite

Highlight • Climb

One the many climbs out of Armathwaite Village. In my opinion it’s the best as the climb gives an extra little punch at the top with some false flat.

Caldbeck Village

Highlight • Cafe

Nice little town with all aspects covered one could wish for. A pub, a tearoom, a nice church with old cemetery, a river, some small shops, and so on.

A lovely quiet road along the base of Carrock Fell and across Caldbeck Common. Watch out for the odd pothole and the soft verges as well as the wild fell ponies. The crossing from Mosedale to Hesket Newmarket is fanatstic.

Greystoke Village Cross

Highlight • Historical Site

Greystoke is a village in Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District. There has been a church here since 1255 and the cross in the village square dates back to the early 1600's.

Strawberry Hill Climb

Highlight • Climb

This is a seemingly endless drag up from the valley to get you back in Penrith. Lovely but hard work

Nice lanes which are a bit flatter than most of the surrounding area. Good opportunity to go a bit faster than usual.
