Nice little town with all aspects covered one could wish for. A pub, a tearoom, a nice church with old cemetery, a river, some small shops, and so on.

Caldbeck was the home of the famous 19th century huntsman John Peel, who was tributed musically in the song "Do ye ken John Peel?". He now rests in the small Caldbeck churchyard beneath an elaborate headstone. Another famous resident of the village is Sir Christopher Bonnington, mountaineer and conqueror of Everest.

Lovely little village with a pub and a couple of cafes. All the roads into and out of Caldbeck are brilliant for cycling and it is on the Cumbria Way too for walkers.
