In the city area of Bad Kreuznach, near the 2-meter-high and approximately 90-meter-wide Elisabethenwehr. At this weir, the Mühlkanal branches off, which shapes the entire cityscape of Bad Kreuznach. The weir in its current state is impassable for all aquatic fauna. This prevents the natural exchange of aquatic fauna within the Nahe.
