Road cycling
The source of the Loir River is in the Perche hills at an altitude of 200 meters in the commune of Saint-Éman (Eure-et-Loir). It drains the Beauce plain, the upper Maine region, and the Gâtine Tourangelle, where it has carved a wide valley. The Loir flows through the departments of Eure-et-Loir, Loir-et-Cher, Sarthe, and Maine-et-Loire.
