Hiking
The Renaissance-style residence of the Counts and Princes of Nassau was built between 1614 and 1634. After the extinction of the Nassau-Idstein line in 1721, the castle served various purposes, including as a central archive, a military hospital, and barracks for the French occupation forces (1919-1925). In 1946, the newly founded Pestalozzi School, a secondary school with a boarding section, was established here.
