Cycling
The Darßwald is a forested area on the western part of the Darß peninsula. There are no settlements in the forest. Surrounding towns are Ahrenshoop and Born to the south, and Wieck and Prerow to the east. The Darßwald covers 5,800 hectares and is part of the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park. The area around Darßer Ort and the northwestern part of the forest belong to Protection Zone 1, where no human use is permitted and natural development of the areas is encouraged.
