The parish in Chojnata was established in the 13th century. The first church building, probably wooden, was founded and equipped in 1278 by the Mazovian prince Bolesław. It can also be assumed that at the expense of the Mazovian rulers, a brick church was built in 1334, which today, as tradition has it, serves as a presbytery. The current church includes a brick presbytery on the plan of an elongated rectangle from 1334 and a wooden, bricked-up nave from the 17th century.
