The narrow path from the Swiss house (uncultivated) on the rock outcrop of Teufelsrutsches (beautiful panorama) to 60 m long Schinderhanneshöhle (former mercury mine from the 14th century) should be committed only by firm, vertigo-free persons with good footwear, because the path is yet very adventurous.

18th-19th Century:. At this time, mining in the southwestern mercury mine, in the resident Karlsgrube (also called Karlsglück), in full swing. In 1774, 355 pounds of mercury were still being recovered there. In the same year it was reported that 41 mining families found their employment there. At that time you could not protect yourself against the incoming water. Despite the pumping stations, there were water falls. Today, the abandoned shafts and pits of overgrown shrubbery are still recognizable. The today after "Schinderhannes" (presumably 1779 to 1803) named cave was thus the mercury production.
