Statue of Nikos Kavvadias
This statue is dedicated to all fishermen and is located right on the promenade and harbor of Argostoli. Nice place with benches nearby to float and relax. With a bit of luck, you can see loggerhead turtles in the sea.

The statue honors Nikos Kavvadias (1910-1975), one of Greece's most beloved poets, who was also known as the „poet of the sea" as he worked as a sailor and radio operator throughout his life.
The statue stands at the end of the Argostoli promenade, near the port and the municipal swimming pool.
The monument depicts Kavvadias looking out at the sea – a tribute to his deep connection to seafaring, which inspired almost his entire literary work.
