On the Meuse lies Fumay, a classic Ardennes village with stone houses and the spire of the Saint-Georges church rising above the water. The town grew for centuries around its slate mines, but today it radiates tranquility: a panorama of river, stone, and green hills. The most beautiful view is from the bridge — Fumay is reflected in the Meuse, seeming to stand still in time.

Haybes and Fumay are linked by a cycle path and bridge. Both are small sleepy places. In Fumay there is a small local market on Wednesdays at the port.
