The Božena Němcová Monument commemorates the two stays of the Czech national revivalist and writer Božena Němcová (1820–1862) in Františkovy Lázně.
The monument near the Franzensquelle is also an eloquent testimony to the eventful history of the 20th century. The relief portrait of Božena Němcová, a work by Josef Jiříkovský, replaced the original panel in 1950 and thus also the significance of the monument built in 1837 in honor of the so-called “Saxon Foundation”, which from 1820 made it possible for destitute Saxons to receive treatment in Franzensbad.
