In the Garden
The high raspberry walls
Separated you and me,
But in the foliage our hands
Found each other on their own.
The hedge could not prevent it,
No matter how high it stood:
I handed you the berries,
And you handed me your mouth.
Ah, if you would walk through the garden
Once more at a brisk pace,
How gladly I would wait,
Wait for hours.
