This popular climb is unusually long for the Peak District and thankfully takes its name from a pub along its route, rather than any actual snakes

Snake Pass is pretty horrendous for traffic as mentioned in the original post. It’s always worth looking up the local council’s travel disruption notifications online as in the past couple of years, occasionally, the road has to be closed to cars so that repairs can be carried out. This provides a great opportunity for cyclists to ride Snake Pass without any traffic at all. It just takes a little planning to then enjoy it at its best.

Fantastic and stunning climb. Very Majorca-esque. Only downside is the nasty traffic.
