The mine closed in 1989 and the slag heap was remediated in 1995. Herbs were planted and the entire area was opened to the public. At a height of 100 meters, there is a plateau with a view over the surroundings.

For children, the Adventure Mountain is located on the other slag heap of be-MINE, where children reach the summit via giant stairs, a rope course, climbing structures, and crawling tunnels. If you want to learn more about the hardship of working in the Limburg mines, you can visit the Mine Museum.
