As if stranded in the open field, overlooking the plain, the Montlouet mill, a town now attached to Gallardon, seems to be the last memory of a bygone era.
In the 17th century, windmills or water mills flourished in the area. In Gallardon, Ecrosnes, Bailleau-sous-Gallardon, Harleville, Ymeray, Bleury, in Montlouet… All belong to the Lord of Esclimont, also the Marquis de Gallardon. Like the oven or the press, the mills are ordinary: the inhabitants of the area are required to pay a tax for their use.
