The quartzite rocks on Stimberg are considered particularly valuable due to their peculiarity, rarity and beauty. The quartzite terraces that you can admire on the Stimberg are particularly impressive. They offer a true play of colors. The Teufelsstein is also very impressive due to its size and worth a detour.

Hiking

On the Stimberg (the highest elevation) in the Haard, the massive blocks, known as Teufelssteine, can be admired. The rock is quartzite, which is dark in color.

Hiking

The “Stimberghöhe” nature reserve (NSG RE-026) is located in the eastern part of the Stimberg plateau, the highest elevation in the Haard hill country. Impressive quartzite rock formations, which reach a height of up to 2 m, characterize the landscape here, which is extremely valuable from a geological point of view (type locality Stimberg quartzite).
