This point on the Hohenfels is the exposed part of a whole chain of rocks. From here you can see the valley near Katzenloch and the Kirschweiler fortress opposite.
A barely visible path leads along the rocks over the entire ridge to the forest path between Wildburg and Katzenloch.
The Hohenfels is a so-called Härtling. It is made of quartzite, a very resistant rock that has its origins in the Devonian.
