The World Heritage site Maulbronn Monastery is considered one of the best-preserved medieval monastery complexes north of the Alps. The Cistercian character of the architecture and the surrounding cultural landscape are almost perfectly preserved. Therefore, a visit should include not only the monastery itself but also the surrounding area, perhaps on a short hike or a bike tour.
