A former moated castle over 600 years old, located near the Große Aue river; heavily contested, especially during the Thirty Years' War. After a fire in 1878/79, only the outer walls of the main building remain today.

The museum farm is a fully furnished farmstead with all its tools and outbuildings, reflecting the way of life in the 19th century. Upon request, museum education programs such as baking, indigo dyeing, beekeeping, spinning, and weaving are offered for groups. Several times a year, on Sundays and public holidays, milling and baking days take place on the grounds. On these days, the horse mill is in operation, bread and cakes are baked in the old 16th-century stone oven, and traditional farming and craft techniques are demonstrated. Unfortunately, we didn't get as far as the castle ruins. There was a construction fence in between.
