The Kleinbahnmuseum Enger is always open on the first Sunday of the month from 3 PM - 5 PM. https://www.enger.de/Leben-in-Enger/Kultur/Museen/Kleinbahnmuseum It deals with the history of the Herforder Kleinbahn, which used to run from Vlotho on the Weser via Bad Salzuflen to Herford and from there to Enger, Spenge and as far as Wallenbrück. A short section of the original route is still preserved here at the Kleinbahnhof. It is currently planned to make the 50 m long section drivable again, because: Vehicles still exist in the locomotive shed and are still operational.

The Enger Bruch is a nature reserve along the Bolldammbach and the Bruchgraben. The green areas form a wetland, which is partly mown and partly left untouched during the dry season, and where beautiful wildflowers grow along the paths and meadow edges. Wild geese also like to stay on the ponds, which can be overlooked from an observation tower.

After the memorial cross, the path should lead to the Baringhof and past it. However, the young farmer is waiting there who has something to compensate for and instead of a greeting he offers you "police, ban on entry, damages and violence" if you try to pass the farm outside the fence. Because experience has shown that it makes little sense to speak out against stupidity and aggression, you turn around and go a little further back past the edge of the forest or even further up through the forest at the Rirsen barrier....he probably won't be happy about that either and because there are hunting facilities there, the dike master will certainly be grumpy if he finds you there.

On February 16, 1945, the Bielefeld Kleinbahn passenger train was bombed at this point. The second carriage of the train was completely destroyed in the attack and 19 people were found dead. The memorial cross and information board are intended to commemorate the unnecessary deaths of civilians.

The Herford small railway once steamed where the Maiwiese is today. The former railway line is now a beautiful park along the Bolldammbach. Seating and a playground are also ideal for a hiking break.
