In 1916, the Allgäuer Herdbuchgesellschaft (founded in 1893) received a rare gift from one of its founding members - the Königsalpe. Named after its former owner, Bonaventura König, it is the middle of three alpine pastures in Gschwend, above Trabers-Mutten in the municipality of Stiefenhofen.
