The Protestant Christ Church was inaugurated on the "Ochsenbuckel" in 1959. For a long time, Protestant Christians in Trochtelfingen, which belonged to Hohenzollern, had to attend church services in neighboring Protestant towns in Württemberg (e.g. Mägerkingen) or go to private houses. In 1891, 17 Protestants lived in Trochtelfingen and 36 in Haidhöfen. A year later, confirmation classes were given and church services were held in the so-called "prayer house" in Mühlgässle. It was also the home of church council member Friedrich Betz and his family. In 1937, there were only 345 Protestants in the diaspora parish of Gammertingen with its 25 towns and villages, which also included Trochtelfingen. In the post-war period, the number of Protestant parish members increased due to the refugees from the German eastern territories. Since 1951, the Protestant parish of Trochtelfingen no longer belongs to the parish of Gammertingen, but was assigned to the parish of Mägerkingen together with Steinhilben and Haid. In 2007, the daughter parish of Trochtelfingen then became a single parish together with Mägerkingen. On January 1, 2019, the combined parish of Gammertingen-Trochtelfingen was founded, as it exists today.
