St. George's Church is part of what was once a fortified town. It was first mentioned as a chapel in 1379 and essentially acquired its present dimensions in 1578. The gravestones of the von Buwinghausen family, who owned the castle, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, lend a distinctive character to the light-filled interior.
