Very nice old spoke at the ferry terminal in Obermühl. Hopefully the memory will be preserved permanently.

The history of the very modern (slightly different) church according to Wikipedia... very interesting: As early as 1770 to 1772 a church was built in Obermühl and dedicated to the Nativity of Mary. At that time it was a branch church of the parish church in Kirchberg ob der Donau. In 1933 the parish office in Obermühl was founded and the church was renovated. Due to the construction of the Aschach power plant on the Danube, whose backwater reaches as far as Obermühl, the old town was relocated. The old church was demolished and today's modern-style church was erected on a higher site in 1964 as a replacement according to plans by the Viennese architect Heinz Scheide. The new church was consecrated on September 20, 1964. The rococo altar of the old church was set up in the parish church of Michaelnbach. In 2007, the church was remodeled according to plans by the architects Josef Schütz and Rainer Habringer and an artistic redesign by Gabriele and Alois Hain from Haslach an der Mühl.

Lembach has been a center for linen weaving since the 15th century. The charming facades of the town houses still bear witness to this today. The baroque house gables give the Lembach market its unique, attractive appearance. They come from a time when linen weaving and the linen trade, the most important industry at the time, brought economic prosperity to the Mühlviertel. As a reminder of the Peasants' War, which began in Lembach in 1626, a Peasants' War Fountain (1987) was built on the market square next to the pillory (1612).
