Fits well into the fabulous Borken tour: 🎙️ Saint Cordula of Gemen Castle High above the still waters of the moat rises Gemen Castle. Old...defensive...and full of stories. But one of them is different. Quiet...yet full of strength. It is said that a young woman once lived here - Cordula. She was pious...kind... and completely devoted to her faith. While others lived, laughed, argued and celebrated in the castle, she repeatedly withdrew. Sought the silence. The prayer. But her otherness was noticed. Not everyone understood her. Not everyone wanted to understand. In a time when faith also meant power, Cordula was tested. She was faced with a decision: Should she give up her faith... or suffer for it. Cordula remained steadfast. Quiet...but unwavering. And so it came to pass that she suffered a martyr's death. It is said that she did not leave with screams... but with a calmness that silenced even her opponents. Since that time... her name has been associated with this place. And some believe... that her presence has never completely disappeared. When the fog lies over the moat... when the water becomes still... and no sound moves the air... then, some say, you can feel her. No fear. No terror. Just...a quiet, almost comforting peace. As if someone were watching. Another legend tells of an unhappy love. Perhaps it was also Cordula. Heartbroken, she threw herself from the high tower into the courtyard. It remains dry there even when it rains. At night she is said to sneak through the castle. Even today, people tell of unexplained noises in the castle.

A very nice and well-visited farm, with regional products and homemade ice cream, which often changes with the seasons. Plenty of seating and a large playground for children.
