Very nice little village with a bar, 2 restaurants, a small grocery store, and a pharmacy. Very friendly residents.

Unfortunately, the path is blocked by a pile of wood, so you have to carry the bike over it. Therefore, unfortunately, no longer recommended.

The legend of Toiano centers on the unsolved murder of Elvira Orlandini, known as "Bella Elvira," killed in 1947 while walking to a spring in the woods of the abandoned village. The crime, which occurred during Corpus Christi, made national headlines and remains an unsolved mystery. The story helped create Toiano's reputation as a ghost town, fueling legends of sightings of her spirit and legends of the town's possible depopulation.

The town is rather run down and disappointing, but the views you see along the way are spectacular.

The view has been blocked by a pile of wood. Both on this side and the other. I believe the river has eroded the roads, so it's best to take the road towards La Sterza, cross the next ford, which is being rebuilt, and take the road to the right after crossing the ford to rejoin the trail on the other side.

A special stage of the Sanremo Rally on old-fashioned dirt roads. Perfect for gravel. The dirt surface is compact and the gradient is just right. I did it on August 1st, at 12:00 p.m., but it was mostly in the shade. There are a few horseflies; the important thing is not to stop.
