The historic center of Amatrice was unfortunately destroyed by the 2016 earthquake. Part of the town was rebuilt in a modern way using wood as the main material. Not to be missed, at the end of summer, is the festival of the famous spaghetti all'amatriciana, a delicacy known throughout the world which finds its maximum expression here!
