Molines-en-Queyras

The panoramic moment of Molines, a little haven of peace ideal for picnics, or even a quiet night

Here is a beautiful, unmissable walk from Molines, which will allow you to reach a beautiful panoramic clearing from the Serre: the Cabane de Clot l'Henry.
The departure is from the Serre de Molines itself (it is also possible to leave from the Rua via the Pont des Achins): simply go down a small path where you will find parking.
It is therefore the basic hike for those who have found accommodation in Molines, a beautiful picnic spot. And it is a frequent crossing point for itinerant trekking groups (stay agencies), but also for mountain bikers and beyond all lovers of Queyras, summer and winter (especially snowshoeing). This hike was carried out on October 31, 2016, on a beautiful autumn day, with its beautiful colors. Please note that you will find several thematic explanatory panels throughout your route (Water, Saint Romain Church, Pic Epeiche, Cassenoix Moucheté, Pic de Rochebrune, Vallée des Aigues, Architecture of Houses of the Aigues valley, etc.). This hike will therefore allow you to begin discovering the heritage, just to exercise your legs and clear your mind!

The little history of Clot l'Henry

Le Clot L'Henry (or Clot Henri on IGN maps) is a clearing in the Saint Simon forest in the Sommet Bucher mountain, overlooking Molines en Queyras. It has a renovated shepherd's hut.
The former shepherd's hut was restored in 2009/2010 by the Association of Friends of Saint-Simon and Clot l'Henry, with financial assistance from the Mayor, the General Council, the Regional Council and the Fondation du Heritage.

The renovation is therefore the work of volunteers.

It is therefore essential to respect the place, to return it to the condition in which you found it (cleanliness, waste), so that everyone can have a pleasant time there.

This refuge is made available to all free of charge, and you are asked not to stay there for more than one night.

In terms of equipment, you will find

A main room with a beautiful table and benches

Kitchen utensils

Stove with wood reserve.

A beautiful typical decoration

2*2 places on box spring with mattress and blankets (bunk bed / mezzanine)

A fountain located nearby

Latrines nearby (dedicated wooden hut)

Several picnic tables and barbecue area

A guest book

A ballot box at the entrance accepts checks to help the association maintain this beautiful cabin.

https://youtu.be/Tn2Pfva6nS0 Easy to climb up to the refuge, then a flat section to a lake. If you want to go up to Passo Vallanta by bike after the lake, you just have to carry your bike up a blocked wall.
