A great place to stop in and get a trail map, get your parking pass, etc. I had a great experience talking to the ranger about where would be great to hike here with a few hours. Would gladly visit with them again.

Peterson town theme is Gnomes, not sure why, but they have an awesome giant gnome next to their sign, right on the bike path!

RV Camping right off the bike trail, and a cute painted concession stand on the ballfields. Small playground.

Looks like a neat little place, and it's right next to the bowling alley which has more food and drink options. Plus they have volleyball courts.

This is one of the best views of the Rushford sign on the bluff I found from the bike trail.

Good place for shelter, halfway between Lanesboro to the west and Whalan to the east.

The South Branch of the Root River joins the Root River at this location. From this point downstream, the Root River is joined by the South Fork of the Root River before ultimately flowing into the Mississippi River.

Can we bring our dog on the family-friendly trails?

Generally, dogs are welcome on most state park trails and state trails in Minnesota, including those in Fillmore County, as long as they are on a leash no longer than six feet. Always check specific park regulations before you go, as some areas or facilities might have restrictions.
