Very nice view of the lake. Not far from the Le Schlossberg campsite.

This is a real side-step descent, probably the least fun side to descend, but easy to make kilometers. The climb: I think it's the easiest and least fun way to climb the Grand Ballon. If you just push through the first kilometer, you can do it on the big plate. Not difficult at all, it takes a long time and it is a busy road. The road surface is fine, but not necessarily recommended. My preference is the version from Moosch or Soultz.

700 meters of altitude over 12 km is arithmetically 5.8%. The first two kilometers from Kruth are a bit steeper, about 11%. Then significantly less and therefore very pleasant to drive.

Surrounded by beautiful nature, the dam is a man-made juxtaposition.

Ascending from Cascade du Bockloch, one briefly enters a scree field. The path makes a curve here and is easy to walk. A path further through the scree field can be surmised locally, but this is not marked on the map.

If you walk the "Hinteres Bockloch" trail, which starts at the Cascade du Bockloch, you will repeatedly come across smaller waterfalls.
