In the heart of Saarbrücken, the Deutsch-Französische Garten invites you to enjoy walks and relaxing hours in the greenery across approximately 50 hectares. As the largest green space in the capital of Saarland, it is a popular destination for recreation and offers plenty of space to discover the various garden areas and the expansive park landscape. The DFG was opened in 1960 under the patronage of the then German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and the French Prime Minister Michel Debré. To this day, the garden stands for German-French friendship and the cross-border connection of the region. Its design in the style of the 1950s and 1960s has been preserved to this day and has been a listed monument since 2001. In addition to its significance as a garden and park, the DFG is also a popular venue for events. Throughout the year, various festivals and events take place here, attracting visitors from Saarland and neighboring France.

In the Bürgerpark, designed by landscape architects Anneliese and Peter Latz, the so-called "water wall" forms a clear eye-catcher. The over 8 m high brick wall, designed as a circular arc segment, rises two storeys out of the pond complex. and gives the impression of being much older. Very pretty
