Albyns Farm Lake is a fantastic place to feed the ducks inside Hornchurch Country Park. Make sure to stop off and enjoy the view.

January 26, 2025, Flooded Pathway

The higher path was only a recent addition and it has come really handy to avoid this lower section that's often often flooded or just muddy. It is a shame as this can be a beautiful section of the path but it's saved mud on my shoes and falling over on my bike

This path tends to flood during the Winter/Spring months and when it rains heavily. Please take the alternative path I took in this hike to stay dry. If you have wellies on, by all means, do wade through the puddle.

Gravel trails leading from Havering Country Park in the east, towards Hainault Forest in the west. This track follows the local authority boundary and skirts to the north of the golf course.

Great view from the edge of the woods across heathland to the London skyline.

The map on Komoot shows what I think is an older route for this section of the Loop; follow this gravel path instead, it's much easier!

Hainault Forest is an ancient forest home to an array of beautiful plant and animal species. There's a canopy of oak and hornbeam and a burst of seasonal bluebells in spring, accompanied by an impressive display of around 158 bird species! The views from within the forest of the surrounding area are fantastic. There's also a boating lake, miniature henge and café to explore.
