The small stone towers on the shore of Königssee are a popular symbol of peace, balance, and connection with nature. Visitors carefully stack the stones on top of each other, creating small, ephemeral works of art against the impressive backdrop of the Berchtesgadener Alps. Especially in the quiet atmosphere by the lake, the towers seem to symbolize harmony and the beauty of simple things.

We were there in mid-October, and it got quite crowded in St. Bartolomä around lunchtime. I imagine it's even busier in the summer months. But perhaps the flow of visitors is better spread out then, because the boats also travel to Salet.
