I was here with the previous owner. It was great how he explained how the restorations were done.

Impressive buildings in the middle of the forest. I completely lost track of time here. Certainly a highlight, especially with children. Currently, some construction work is taking place on the site, so some paths may have to be temporarily bypassed (as of September 2025).

A short detour here is definitely worth it. Then follow the path to the left past the ruins for even more discoveries along the way.

The Waterloopbos is a unique area where nature and history converge. This former open-air laboratory houses dozens of scale models of world-famous harbors, dams, and locks. Nature has since taken over much of the landscape, allowing you to walk among trees, water, and the ruins of test models. A unique combination of cultural engineering and natureโdefinitely recommended for hikers and curious explorers! ๐๐ณ
