Reaching the iconic Bafi Refuge on Mount Parnitha in the pouring rain! We missed the snow by just a matter of hours—only for the entire mountain to get perfectly blanketed the very next day. A cozy but slightly heartbreaking milestone, but still the best place to shelter from the elements.

Normally, this high-altitude spot outside the Mont Parnes Casino offers a breathtaking, panoramic view over the entire city of Athens. On this day, however, the mountain fog had other plans! A classic milestone that turned into a hilarious "zero visibility" adventure right inside the clouds.

One of the few remaining intact forests in Parnitha National Park. The nature here is enchanting. In November, when I was there, it was very quiet and pleasant to hike. The path with the red markings leads to the Bafi hut.
