This church is certainly unique and was a sub-project of the EXPO project "Welt-Forum-Wald" (World-Forum-Forest) in the year 2000 in Hanover. Visitors to EXPO brought soil samples from their homelands or sent them to the church later. The soil samples were and still are stored in the altarpiece. Currently, approx. 5,800 samples are stored, the capacity is around 7000. Information can be found on the homepage www.Eine-Erde-Altar.org.
