Bürgermühle an der Rems (Bürgermühlenweg 7) The 'Obere-' or 'Bürgermühle', also called 'Hahnsche Mühle' after the last owner family, is one of the few buildings that survived the great city fire of 1634 unscathed and is thus one of the oldest still preserved buildings in the old town. The first documented mention of a mill at this location dates back to the 13th century. The coat of arms stone with the year and a double 'W' above the portal below the church bridge is a reminder that the mill was rebuilt in 1574 and that the city of Waiblingen received the property as a fief of Württemberg. Floods, low water, and especially log driving often hindered operation, so the Bürgermühle was only operational for about 9 months a year. From 1806 in private ownership, it was converted into an art mill in 1857 and expanded in 1868 by a large extension (demolished in 1990). Milling operations ceased in 1918. In 1972, the property along with the two associated mill islands (today 'Große Erleninsel' and 'Kleine Erleninsel') was purchased by the city. The municipal utility company renewed the old water wheel for demonstration purposes; electricity is generated here today via a turbine in the mill race. One of the most historically significant mill complexes in the Rems-Murr district. The main building features a beautiful portal, a solid, extensively remodeled barn likely of late medieval origin, and an additional half-timbered mill building dating from 1857. The Häcker Mill takes its name from the members of the Häcker family, originally from Nußdorf near Vaihingen/Enz, who resided at the mill from 1708 onwards. They initially operated the mill as a fief of the Duchy of Württemberg and, at the latest by 1837, as its owners. The millers were always among the wealthiest citizens of the village and repeatedly held the office of village headman. The ensemble of main building, barn, and large outbuilding is one of the oldest and most important historical mill complexes in the Rems-Murr district.

Waldenstein Castle is the ruin of a spur castle situated on a 385-meter-high (1,100 ft) mountain spur overlooking the Wieslauf Valley in the Waldenstein district of the municipality of Rudersberg in the Rems-Murr district of Baden-Württemberg. The castle was built around 1200 by the Lords of Waldenstein, presumably imperial ministeriales (unfree knights) of the Hohenstaufen dynasty. They are first documented in 1251 – by then already in the service of Württemberg – (last mention in 1349). Subsequently, the Württembergers mortgaged the castle. After 1456, it was granted as a fief to noble and bourgeois families.
