The old Alt Karin estate, first documented in 1233 as "Curin," with its park and the church in the village center, testify to Alt Karin's importance as a former manor house. In particular, the family of the last landowner, Count von Bernstorff, significantly shaped the village and its surroundings, including the creation of Alt Karin Lake and the chestnut tree avenue, through large-scale reforestation. The Alt Karin Church is early Gothic, built of brick, and the choir and single-nave nave are covered with a cross-ribbed vault. The interior features a gallery surrounding the western part and three raised royal seats or galleries.

The Groß Siemen manor house was first mentioned in the 14th century and built in 1890 as the successor to a knight's estate. The park, first mentioned in 1768, covers 39 hectares and is surrounded by the meandering Hellbach stream. 3,500 English and historic rose varieties can be found here. Bridges and circular paths connect the various park areas, and lemon and orange trees are an indispensable part of the orangery.

Rerik, between the lagoon and the Baltic Sea. While searching for a vegan menu at Bistro Lene, I only found sweet potato fries and beer, but I did enjoy sitting in the shade, and the fries were really good.
